01 — Overview

Correcting a result you weren't happy with

If a previous nose job left you unhappy, revision rhinoplasty corrects problems from earlier surgery — working carefully with scar tissue and altered structure. It is our signature focus at MOOi.

Revision rhinoplasty is more complex than a primary procedure because the surgeon must work with scar tissue and changed nasal structures. At MOOi, the altered tissue from previous surgery is analysed precisely before any plan is set — considering not only shape but nasal function and natural proportion, with long-term stability in mind so it can be your last surgery.

  • Breathing difficulties after nose surgery
  • Over-reduced or collapsed nasal structure

Benefits

  • Achieves a more balanced and natural-looking result
  • Improves both appearance and nasal function
  • Strengthens nasal support for long-term stability
  • Personalized reconstruction tailored to your anatomy
02 — Types

Approaches we offer

The right approach depends on how much correction is needed. At consultation, the surgeon determines which of these fits your case.

  • Minor Revision — small corrections to tip shape, bridge height or symmetry. For subtle concerns from a previous surgery.
  • Implant Removal or Replacement — removing or exchanging silicone or Gore-Tex implants that have shifted, become visible, or caused complications.
  • Cartilage Graft Revision — using cartilage from the ear or rib to rebuild structures that were over-reduced or damaged.
  • Full Structural Revision — a comprehensive rebuild for severe collapse, significant asymmetry or major functional problems. The most complex type, requiring an experienced surgeon.
03 — Recovery Timeline

What to expect, week by week

Day 0 — Surgery
Performed under general anaesthesia, typically 2–5 hours depending on complexity.
Week 1–2
Swelling and bruising are normal. Splint and stitches removed during follow-up. Most return to desk work within 10–14 days.
Week 4–6
Avoid strenuous activity. Major swelling subsides; the new shape begins to settle.
Month 6–12
Final result appears as residual swelling fully resolves. Outcome is long-lasting with quality cartilage or implant materials.
04 — The MOOi Process

How your case is handled

Precise analysis of altered tissueThe current state of previously operated tissue is read accurately — scar, implant position, structural loss — before any plan is set.
Function and proportion togetherThe plan considers nasal airflow and natural balance, not appearance alone.
Surgeon-performed, start to finishThe surgeon who consults you performs your surgery — never delegated.
Designed to be the last surgeryStability and long-term outcome are planned to prevent repeated revisions.

"Revision cases are where experience matters most. We read exactly what happened in the previous surgery before deciding a direction — never the other way around."

08 — FAQ

Common questions

How long should I stay in Seoul for revision rhinoplasty?
Most patients stay 7–14 days after surgery for initial healing and follow-up checks, including splint and stitch removal before flying home.
Is revision harder than a first rhinoplasty?
Yes — the surgeon works with scar tissue and altered structure, which is why an experienced revision specialist matters. Precise analysis of the previous result comes before any surgical plan.
Can you fix breathing problems from a previous surgery?
Revision at MOOi considers nasal function alongside shape. Functional problems such as obstructed breathing caused by prior surgery can be addressed as part of the plan.
Will my result look natural?
The goal is a natural, balanced nose in proportion with your face — restoring rather than over-correcting. Long-term stability is planned so it can be your last surgery.
